Sr. Plasma Center Technician

Takeda is hiring a Senior Plasma Center Technician at our San Antonio facility in Bexar County. This is a full-time position for an experienced professional ready to lead operational excellence and donor care at one of the nation's most critical plasma collection centers.

About the Role

As a Senior Plasma Center Technician, you'll take on a key operational role managing daily plasma collection activities, ensuring donor safety and regulatory compliance, and mentoring team members. This position requires advanced technical skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to work independently while setting high standards for your team.

What You'll Do

• Perform donor screening, intake, and health assessments according to FDA and AABB standards
• Operate plasma collection equipment safely and maintain accurate equipment logs
• Conduct quality assurance checks on plasma units and processing procedures
• Train, supervise, and provide feedback to junior plasma technicians
• Maintain detailed donor records and process clinical documentation
• Manage donor communication, address concerns, and foster positive donor relationships
• Ensure strict compliance with biohazard protocols and safety procedures
• Monitor inventory, equipment maintenance schedules, and supply ordering
• Respond to technical issues and troubleshoot equipment problems

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in plasma donation, blood banking, or a related clinical setting
• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent clinical laboratory experience
• Deep knowledge of FDA and AABB regulatory requirements
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and train others
• Strong communication skills and empathy for donors from diverse backgrounds
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle equipment
• Reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety protocols
