About the Role
As a Sr. FPGA Modem and Physical Layer Development Engineer with Amazon Leo, you will architect and deliver high-performance FPGA designs that power next-generation modems for LEO satellite systems. This is a rare chance to help shape a cutting-edge wireless communication platform built around an ultra-reliable, low-latency, high-throughput physical layer (PHY). You will partner closely with systems engineering teams to define requirements and bring advanced FPGA-based solutions from concept to release.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and release FPGA-based modem and physical layer implementations for next-generation LEO satellite communication systems.
- Engineer high-throughput, low-latency PHY solutions with a focus on reliability and performance at scale.
- Collaborate with systems teams to translate system-level requirements into concrete FPGA designs.
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of a state-of-the-art wireless communication architecture.
Qualifications
- Strong, hands-on experience in FPGA design and development for modem or physical layer applications.
- Solid understanding of wireless communication systems and digital signal processing concepts relevant to PHY design.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with systems teams throughout the full development lifecycle.
- A track record of delivering complex, high-performance hardware designs from definition through release.
