Trane Technologies is seeking a Sr EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives at its Minneapolis, Hennepin County facility. This full‑time position partners with operations and leadership to drive compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across the site.
About the Role
The Sr EHS Manager develops and executes safety programs, manages regulatory reporting, and coaches teams to foster a culture where preventing incidents is everybody’s responsibility.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and audit EHS policies that align with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Lead safety training programs, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and chemical handling, for employees and contractors.
- Track key performance indicators, prepare metrics for management reviews, and drive corrective action plans.
- Manage waste characterization, storage, and disposal programs to ensure proper handling of hazardous and non‑hazardous materials.
- Coordinate emergency response planning, including spill containment and fire safety drills, with internal teams and external agencies.
- Partner with engineering and project teams to integrate safety considerations into new equipment installations and process changes.
- Maintain EHS documentation, permits, and records required for audits and regulatory submissions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of five years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar setting.
- Proven knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and state/local environmental laws.
- Strong ability to develop and deliver training programs that engage diverse audiences.
- Experience with incident investigation methodologies such as root cause analysis and the use of EHS management software.
- Excellent communication skills, with a track record of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or ASP are a plus but not required.
