Join Summit Therapeutics as a Senior Commercial Attorney specializing in transactions. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for an experienced legal professional to shape commercial strategy in oncology drug development and innovation.
About the Role
As Senior Commercial Attorney for Transactions at Summit Therapeutics, you'll lead the legal architecture behind our most critical business agreements. Based in the US, you'll work directly with executive leadership to structure and negotiate deals that advance our mission of developing breakthrough cancer therapies.
What You'll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including licensing deals, partnership arrangements, and clinical collaboration agreements
- Support merger, acquisition, and corporate development transactions from legal due diligence through closing
- Manage supplier and manufacturing agreements essential to our biopharmaceutical operations
- Advise cross-functional teams on legal risk, contractual obligations, and negotiation strategy
- Maintain and evolve the company's commercial contract portfolio and governance practices
- Collaborate with external counsel and stakeholders to resolve complex legal and commercial issues
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor degree and current admission to the state bar
- Demonstrated experience in commercial transactions law within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Expertise in drafting and negotiating licensing, partnership, and acquisition agreements
- Strong understanding of life sciences business models and deal structures
- Excellent negotiation and written communication skills
- Strategic mindset and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously
