What This Role Involves This hybrid position combines account management, customer success, and commercial growth. Success requires understanding both the technical and business sides of cloud infrastructure—you'll speak fluently about storage architecture, API design, egress economics, and data pipelines. Your Responsibilities Manage operational health and escalations for a portfolio of strategic accounts with multi-million dollar ARR Serve as the day-to-day voice of Backblaze to customers, coordinating between Support, Engineering, and Product teams Identify and develop expansion opportunities by building deep customer relationships and understanding their infrastructure evolution and business challenges Prepare executives for high-stakes customer meetings with comprehensive account context and relationship intelligence Collaborate with Solutions Engineers on technical discovery, architecture reviews, and proof-of-concept engagements Negotiate renewal and expansion terms in partnership with executives, bringing account context and relationship capital to the discussion Maintain accurate pipeline, account health, and forecast data in our CRM system Achieve ramp milestones at 90, 180, and 270 days while establishing credibility and building expansion pipeline Skills & Qualifications 7+ years in hybrid Account Management, Customer Success, or Strategic Sales roles within cloud infrastructure, storage, networking, or related technical sectors Demonstrated success managing and growing multi-million dollar accounts with measurable expansion and net revenue retention results Deep knowledge of object storage, S3-compatible APIs, data pipeline design, egress cost optimization, and multi-cloud environments Ability to communicate complex technical concepts with customer infrastructure teams—comfortable whiteboarding architectures and discussing integration patterns at a conceptual level Track record building relationships across multiple organizational levels with technical decision-makers in infrastructure, DevOps, storage engineering, and procurement Proven quota attainment at senior level with documented expansion…
