Speech Language Pathology Assistant

Whitehouse Independent School District is hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathology Assistant to support students who experience speech, language, or voice challenges. Based in Whitehouse, Smith County, you'll join our special services team and help students develop the communication skills they need to succeed academically and thrive in school.

About the Role

As a Speech Language Pathology Assistant at Whitehouse ISD, you'll work collaboratively with our licensed speech-language pathologists to deliver evidence-based communication interventions to students across the district. Your role connects clinical best practices with practical classroom support, ensuring students receive consistent, intensive practice to achieve measurable progress in speech and language development.

What You'll Do

• Assist with speech and language screenings and comprehensive assessments under SLP supervision
• Deliver targeted therapeutic activities and interventions designed by speech-language pathologists
• Monitor and document student progress toward individualized communication goals
• Work with classroom teachers and special education staff to reinforce communication strategies across school environments
• Manage therapy materials, equipment, and clinical records according to district and state standards
• Support students in individual and small-group speech and language therapy sessions

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and adolescents of all backgrounds
• Collaborative mindset and ability to partner with school professionals
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Genuine commitment to supporting students with disabilities and diverse learning needs
