Position Summary The Speech Language Pathologist (Per Diem) (AFSCME) at BMC in Boston is responsible for evaluating and treating individuals with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing needs. In this full-time role, you will create individualized plans, track measurable progress, and partner closely with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation colleagues so patients receive coordinated, effective care. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology assessments to identify disorders of communication and swallowing. Design, implement, and adjust evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals and functional status. Provide direct intervention for speech production, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and dysphagia. Document evaluations, treatment sessions, outcomes, and recommendations accurately and in a timely manner. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies, home programs, and progress expectations. What We're Looking For Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent from an accredited program. Current state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred or ability to obtain as required. Solid clinical skills in assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders across relevant age groups and settings. Strong documentation, time-management, and interpersonal communication abilities. Ability to work effectively in a busy hospital or ambulatory environment and adapt to per-diem scheduling needs.
