About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher at Villa Bella Expeditionary School, you will champion the academic and social-emotional growth of middle school students who learn in different ways. Working on-site in Pueblo, you will help shape inclusive classrooms that bring our Expeditionary Learning approach to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student’s learning plan.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate Expeditionary Learning and Illustrative Mathematics into accessible, student-centered lessons.
- Monitor progress, adjust supports, and maintain accurate records for the students you serve.
- Partner with families, specialists, and colleagues to ensure consistent, caring support.
- Participate in scheduled professional development, including at least one Friday session each month.
Qualifications
- An ESS (Exceptional Student Services) endorsement is required for this teaching position.
- Experience supporting middle school learners with a range of needs is highly valued.
- A genuine commitment to collaborative, hands-on, expedition-based education.
- The drive, warmth, and work ethic to make a lasting difference for students.
