About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher at New Story Schools, you will lead a classroom dedicated to students ages 5–21 who face autism along with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. This on-site position in Clarks Summit blends academic instruction with therapeutic support, giving you the chance to make a lasting difference in young lives every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver individualized lessons tailored to each student's learning goals and abilities
- Support students ages 5–21 living with autism and emotional, behavioral, or developmental needs
- Integrate therapeutic strategies into daily classroom instruction
- Partner with therapists, support staff, and families to coordinate consistent, student-centered care
- Monitor progress, adjust teaching approaches, and prepare students for meaningful, independent adult lives
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured learning environment
Qualifications
- Appropriate state certification or eligibility to teach special education
- Experience supporting students with autism or emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges is highly valued
- Strong skills in individualized instruction and classroom management
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work alongside a multidisciplinary team
