Galaxia Technologies Inc. is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Software Engineering to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in designing and delivering enterprise-scale software solutions. As an SME, you will guide teams through complex development efforts, define best practices, and drive innovation in software architecture and development methodologies. This position is ideal for a highly experienced professional with a passion for advancing software engineering capabilities and mentoring others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient software architectures.
- Lead the development of complex enterprise software solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.
- Establish and enforce best practices for software development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Mentor and guide development teams, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and frameworks to enhance software engineering processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technical designs.
- Oversee code reviews, system performance evaluations, and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure compliance with security, scalability, and maintainability standards in all software engineering efforts.
- Document technical decisions, system architectures, and best practices to support knowledge sharing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 12+ years of software development experience; or Master’s Degree and 10+ years of experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience as a software developer, architect and/or technology executive leading large scale/complex enterprise software efforts
- 5+ years of commercial industry experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex enterprise software projects
- Demonstrated expertise in understanding, structuring, and leading large-scale, complex development initiatives.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.
- Expert knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), CI/CD, and vertical slice/full-stack development approaches, with experience in implementing best practices for enterprise software, at scale.
- Detailed understanding of highly available, scalable cloud native (IaaS, PaaS, DaaS) solutions within commercial industry
- Expert problem-solving and analytical skills in addressing complex, large-scale challenges.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with leadership, stakeholders, development teams, and industry or academic communities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and willing to take a CI polygraph
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience working in highly classified environments supporting the IC/DoD for operational missions
- Past or present experience with USSF/SSC or mission partner space control or space domain awareness mission area programs
- Knowledgeable with respect to IC/DoD processes and procedures for delivering software to production environments
Pay Range:
$200,000 – $310,000 base compensation.
This range represents the good-faith estimate of the base compensation we expect to pay for this role at the time of hire. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to base compensation, we offer excellent benefits.
