[Job-29944] AI Engineer Senior (Javascript/React)

CI&T is hiring a Senior AI Engineer (JavaScript/React) to join our Technology team in Brazil (nationwide) (nationwide), where you will architect and ship production-grade Generative AI systems that turn enterprise AI potential into measurable business outcomes.

About the Role

As an AI Engineer Senior (JavaScript/React) at CI&T, you will serve as a technical anchor for the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable Generative AI solutions. Embedded in a stable, long-running team, you'll own the architecture and ongoing evolution of our AI products, bridging technical innovation, data security, and real business impact. The role suits an engineer with deep cloud experience (especially AWS), hands-on command of LLMs, AI agents, and Generative AI patterns, a security-first mindset, and the confidence to make independent architectural calls while guiding peers. This is a full-time position based in Brazil (nationwide) (nationwide).

Key Responsibilities

• Set architecture standards for Generative AI and steer design decisions spanning multiple squads and products.
• Design, build, and integrate end-to-end conversational AI solutions with scalability and maintainability in mind.
• Develop and evolve AI agents and intelligent automations, including multi-agent workflows, to solve real engineering and business problems.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering practices such as code generation, refactoring, and testing support to strengthen our own development lifecycle.
• Define security and governance strategies for language models, mitigating prompt injection and sensitive-data leakage while meeting healthcare/HIPAA compliance.
• Connect Generative AI models to internal APIs through reusable integration patterns, and lead POCs from ideation through validation, QA, and production.
• Build testing pipelines for non-deterministic Generative AI flows, ensuring accurate benefits and eligibility responses.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers via code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing, and act as the technical reference alongside Product, leadership, and QA.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years in Software Engineering, with at least 1 year on AI/ML projects and experience leading projects or teams.
• Strong Python/JavaScript/React skills plus API development (FastAPI, Flask, or similar) with attention to design and performance.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, and others), advanced prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, and embeddings.
• Experience building AI agents with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
• Cloud-native expertise, preferably AWS (Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB), plus Git, CI/CD, and MLOps practices.
• Nice to have: Anthropic certifications, multi-agent frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen), Healthtech experience, Kubernetes, and prior technical leadership.
