About the Role

As a Shift Lead at Walgreens in Russellville, you serve as the operational anchor of your shift. You're the go-to person for store opening and closing procedures, team direction, and customer experience — ensuring every customer who walks through the door gets the trusted Walgreens service they expect.

What You'll Do

• Open and close the store in the absence of store management, executing all required system start-up and shutdown procedures
• Oversee required cash handling at the start and end of each shift, including cash drops to the safe and supplying change to active registers
• Prepare the sales floor and stock room so the store is fully ready before the business day begins
• Receive and authorize back-door deliveries, verifying shipments against purchase orders
• Process product returns, order voids, and customer refunds accurately and in accordance with company policy
• Guide and support team members on shift, providing direction on tasks, customer service, and store standards
• Maintain merchandise presentation, shelf stocking, and planogram compliance throughout the shift
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism, escalating when appropriate
• Uphold loss prevention awareness and adhere to all Walgreens operational and safety policies

What We're Looking For

• Prior retail or customer-facing experience, with exposure to cash handling or register operations
• Demonstrated ability to lead or direct coworkers, even informally, in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail when completing transactions, processing returns, or managing cash accountability
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable taking ownership during opening and closing shifts
• Effective communicator who can coordinate with both team members and customers under pressure
• Basic computer and point-of-sale system proficiency
• Must meet any age requirements applicable to this position per state or local law
