About This Position
This is a full-time, non-remote position based in New Zealand (nationwide) (nationwide). As a Shepherd General at Pastoral Organic Dairy, you will be part of an experienced team working outdoors and contributing to the farming community just outside Taupō.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Assist with the management and care of livestock
- Drive in/drive out position for routine farm duties
- Participate in daily farm operations, including feeding, milking, and general maintenance tasks
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve production goals
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced shepherd or someone who is passionate about working outdoors. Key qualifications include:
- Previous experience in farming or shepherding preferred but not essential for career starters
- A strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
- Physical fitness, as the role involves manual labor and outdoor conditions
