As Shelter Manager at The Salvation Army in Midland, you will oversee shift operations at the Corps shelter, guiding staff, volunteers, and community service clients while delivering compassionate, hands-on support to the residents who depend on the facility. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the daily work of assigned staff, volunteers, and community service clients
- Provide direct assistance to residents staying in the Corps shelter overnight and throughout the day
- Conduct client intake procedures and accurately complete and maintain intake records
- Monitor resident activity during your assigned shift to uphold safety and security at all times
- Enforce house rules and ensure full compliance with shelter policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Proven ability to supervise, schedule, and motivate staff and volunteers
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills for handling client intake documentation
- Sound judgment and attentiveness to maintain a safe, secure shelter environment
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills for working with residents and community members
- Availability for shift-based, on-site work in Midland, Midland County
