Sheet Metal Journeyman

About the Role

Mechanical Services & Design is hiring a Sheet Metal Journeyman for our full-time team based in Riverside, Greene County. This is a hands-on position where you'll design, fabricate, and install HVAC systems while developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople in our field.

What You'll Do

• Install and configure HVAC equipment, ductwork assemblies, and supporting components for residential and commercial projects
• Perform precision sheet metal work including cutting, bending, and joining materials to specification
• Lead small crews and coordinate daily workflow to ensure quality installation standards
• Train and supervise apprentices, transferring technical knowledge and safe work practices
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and compliance with system requirements
• Troubleshoot installation challenges and recommend solutions in real time
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to project timelines

What We're Looking For

• Current journeyman certification in sheet metal work or equivalent field experience
• Demonstrated expertise in HVAC system installation and ductwork design
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Comfort leading crews and mentoring apprentice-level technicians
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to work on-site in all weather conditions
