Service Manager

Erik's Bike Shop Inc is seeking a Service Manager for its Woodbury, Washington County location to lead the service department and drive excellent customer experiences.

About the Role

The Service Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of the bike shop’s service area, partnering with the Store Manager to uphold high standards of repair quality, customer satisfaction, and team performance. This position is pivotal in maintaining smooth workflow and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

• Manage service scheduling, assign tasks to technicians, and monitor workflow to meet turnaround goals.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance adhere to manufacturer specifications and shop safety protocols.
• Provide front‑line customer support, addressing inquiries, explaining service options, and resolving concerns promptly.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate service staff to develop technical skills and professional conduct.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts inventory, and labor hours using the shop’s management system.
• Coordinate with parts and sales teams to secure necessary components and minimize delays.
• Implement standard operating procedures that enhance efficiency and consistency across the service bay.
• Analyze service metrics and recommend adjustments to improve productivity and profitability.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in bicycle or automotive service management, preferably in a retail environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of bike issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and team members.
• Proficiency with service‑shop software and basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including coaching and performance feedback.
• Organized mindset with attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines.
• Commitment to safety practices and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, as needed to support store hours.
