First Tracks Biotherapeutics is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President of Clinical Development to lead our clinical strategy and programs from early-stage through approved therapeutics in La Jolla, California. This full-time position offers the opportunity to drive scientific innovation, build clinical excellence, and guide our pipeline to successful outcomes.
About the Role
As Senior Vice President of Clinical Development at First Tracks Biotherapeutics, you will provide strategic and scientific leadership across our entire clinical portfolio, overseeing programs at all development stages. You will establish our clinical vision, define evidence-generation strategies, and ensure our trials meet the highest standards of scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and execution of clinical trials, from protocol development through data analysis and regulatory submissions
- Develop and implement clinical strategies for both approved products and development-stage candidates within assigned therapeutic areas
- Direct cross-functional teams to advance programs efficiently while maintaining scientific integrity and regulatory compliance
- Make strategic decisions on trial endpoints, patient populations, and competitive positioning within the market
- Collaborate with regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and research teams to translate scientific findings into clinical value
- Establish clinical governance frameworks and oversee program timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
What We're Looking For
- Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D., or Pharm.D.) in medicine, pharmacy, life sciences, or related discipline
- Extensive experience leading clinical development programs at a biotech or pharmaceutical organization
- Proven success designing and executing Phase II, Phase III, and late-stage clinical trials
- Deep expertise in FDA regulatory pathways, submissions, and regulatory strategy
- Outstanding scientific judgment combined with strategic business thinking
- Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams
