WSP USA is hiring a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer for a full-time remote position serving the Portland, Multnomah County area and beyond. Lead technical teams on high-voltage transmission infrastructure projects.
About the Role
As a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer, you'll direct the planning, design, and delivery of transmission line projects. You'll provide technical leadership guiding teams through every project phase—from initial planning and design through permitting, construction oversight, and commissioning—while maintaining focus on technical quality, regulatory compliance, and schedules.
What You'll Do
- Direct transmission line project planning, design, and execution
- Provide senior technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams
- Coordinate with stakeholders, clients, regulators, and construction partners
- Ensure compliance with NERC standards, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct feasibility studies and engineering analysis supporting project decisions
- Oversee construction phases to verify adherence to design specifications and quality standards
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
What We're Looking For
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or documented qualification toward licensure
- Extensive experience in transmission line engineering or high-voltage power systems
- Proven track record delivering complex, multi-phase transmission projects
- Strong knowledge of transmission system design, planning, and operations
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Strong technical communication skills for diverse audiences
