Commission new relay panels and integrate them into existing substation automation schemes. Troubleshoot relay malfunctions, analyze test data, and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate test records, update documentation, and ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and utility‑specific standards. Coordinate with substation crews, engineers, and project managers to schedule work and minimize service interruptions. Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and participate in safety briefings and tool‑box talks. What We're Looking For Proven experience testing and maintaining protective relays in a utility or industrial setting. Strong understanding of relay protection principles, fault current calculations, and scheme logic. Proficiency with test sets such as Megger, Doble, Omicron, or equivalent equipment. Ability to read and interpret elementary and schematic diagrams, AC/DC control circuits, and relay logic. Familiarity with industry standards including NERC PRC, IEEE C37.90, and applicable utility specifications. Excellent troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to documenting test results. Commitment to safety practices and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to substation sites within the service area.
