Npx

📃 About your Lead

Hi 👋, I’m Steve, co-founder and Director of New Nuclear at NPX – your future lead! I’ve built my career delivering complex nuclear projects including 15+ years in field work at Bruce Power, leading multi-disciplinary teams through major refurbishment campaigns, and strategic and programmatic support to New Build Projects.

I’m a mentor, a teacher, and (full disclosure) a champion of dad jokes. I believe culture is built on smiles and being there for each other — and that’s exactly the kind of team we’ve grown at NPX. If that sounds like your kind of place, I’d love to meet you. Let’s build something great together. 🚀

🌎 About Us

NPX partners with nuclear utilities and new reactor projects to unlock performance through innovation. We combine decades of nuclear operation expertise with AI, digital tools and lean processes to help plants run safer, smarter, and more cost-effectively. Our New Nuclear team scales this expertise through strategic project management of new nuclear projects, from concept through execution, across Canada, the U.S., and globally.

🧠 The Role

NPX is seeking a Senior Program Manager who is interested in shaping the future of new nuclear at NPX and across North America. The role will include leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of new nuclear projects from early development through execution. Your day-to-day will be a mixture of partnering with clients, leading the team to deliver on commitments, and working on growth across NPX’s New Build portfolio. When complex, multi-stakeholder programs are managed with discipline and clarity, Canada’s nuclear future gets built on time, on budget, and to the highest safety standards — and you’ll be at the centre of making that happen.

Travel Requirements: Weekly Travel to client site in Bruce County an asset, willing to relocate is a strong asset.

Salary Range: $ 160-200k (Exact compensation may vary)

Number of Openings: 3

Each opening varies in scope:

  1. AP1000 Senior Program Manager: This role leads program management for AP1000 reactor planning and deployment.

  1. Monark Senior Program Manager: This role leads program management for Monark reactor planning and deployment.

  1. Governance Senior Program Manager: This role leads program management related to the governance of new nuclear builds.

🎯 What You’ll Drive

  • Own end-to-end program delivery — managing scope, schedule, cost, and risk to keep commitments to clients and stakeholders intact.

  • Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation across the program lifecycle, translating uncertainty into structured action plans before issues become project impacts.

  • Serve as a trusted client interface at site to build strong relationships that keep work flowing and surface what’s coming next.

What You Bring

  • Results & Impact: you define what “done” looks like and drive your team to get there — on time, on budget, and without cutting corners on safety or quality.

  • Leadership & Influence: you align multi-disciplinary teams around shared goals and create accountability across organizational boundaries. Experience leading and developing people a strong asset.

  • Adaptability & Growth: you thrive in fast-moving environments and bring structure without rigidity when complexity increases.

  • Initiative & Ownership: you anticipate problems before they surface and treat your program’s success as your personal responsibility.

  • Cultural Amplification: you model the discipline and care that nuclear demands — and you bring your team along with you, because program culture is safety culture.

  • Domain Familiarity: experience in nuclear, energy, or major capital projects with knowledge of CSA N286, project controls frameworks, or equivalent regulatory environments is a strong asset. Experience with New Build and/or Gen III+/Gen IV Large Scale Reactors and SMRs is an asset. Experience with Management System development is an asset
