Senior Principal Systems Engineer- Integrated Product Team Lead

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to serve as an Integrated Product Team Lead at our Oak Park, Cook County facility. This is a full-time, onsite position responsible for driving systems-level engineering strategy and technical leadership across integrated product development.

About the Role

As Senior Principal Systems Engineer and Integrated Product Team Lead, you'll own the technical direction and architecture of complex aerospace systems from concept through production. You'll guide cross-functional engineering teams, establish systems engineering standards, and ensure alignment between product requirements and technical execution. This role combines hands-on systems engineering expertise with strategic leadership of integrated product teams delivering mission-critical aerospace solutions.

What You'll Do

• Define and validate system-level requirements, architectures, and interfaces for integrated product development programs
• Lead systems engineering planning, analysis, and design trade studies across multi-disciplinary teams
• Establish engineering governance, technical standards, and best practices for product teams
• Drive technical risk management, design reviews, and system integration strategies
• Mentor and develop engineering talent while fostering collaboration across functional groups
• Collaborate with program management, manufacturing, and quality to ensure technical feasibility and producibility
• Serve as technical authority and escalation point for complex systems engineering decisions

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in systems engineering, particularly in aerospace, defense, or complex product development
• Proven track record leading large technical teams and managing integrated product programs
• Deep expertise in systems architecture, requirements management, and design integration
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and tools
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to influence across organizations
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearance
