Amazon is seeking a Senior Manager, Energy Procurement & Utility Strategy to lead strategic energy and utility management across one of the world's largest and most complex operational networks. Based in Bellevue, King County, this full-time role drives Amazon's commitment to sustainable energy sourcing while maintaining the cost-effective, dependable power infrastructure that powers global fulfillment, logistics, and data center operations.
About the Role
As Senior Manager of Energy Procurement & Utility Strategy, you'll oversee enterprise-level energy portfolio decisions that directly impact operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. This position combines strategic procurement oversight with stakeholder management across electric and natural gas utility partnerships, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure resilience planning—ensuring Amazon's operations have the power they need, when they need it.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute energy procurement strategies that balance cost management, reliability, and Amazon's net-zero transition goals
- Lead negotiations and long-term agreements with electric utilities, natural gas providers, and energy service partners
- Monitor energy market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to optimize procurement decisions
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and sustainability teams to forecast demand and align energy sourcing with business growth
- Manage energy supply risk, contractual obligations, and performance metrics across multiple jurisdictions and operating regions
- Drive initiatives that improve power system resilience and reduce operational disruptions
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in energy procurement, utilities management, or related strategic sourcing roles
- Demonstrated expertise in electric and gas utility negotiations, contracts, and market dynamics
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with ability to model scenarios and assess cost-benefit tradeoffs
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external utility partners
- Knowledge of energy markets, grid infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks in the US
- Track record of driving organizational impact through data-driven strategy and operational excellence
