Senior Accountant – Evernorth

Join Cigna Group as a Senior Accountant for Evernorth, our international pharmaceutical distribution business, in a full-time, hybrid position based in Saint Louis. You'll lead financial close operations, oversee planning and forecasting initiatives, and deliver analytical insights that drive strategic business decisions.

About the Role

As Senior Accountant for Evernorth, you'll own complex financial close activities, develop and maintain strategic financial models, and analyze business performance to support leadership decision-making. Your work will span month-end and year-end consolidation processes, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial projects that inform operations across our subsidiary.

What You'll Do

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities with accuracy and efficiency
• Build financial models, forecasts, and budgets that support strategic planning
• Analyze financial results against targets, identify performance drivers, and recommend improvements
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and documentation for our international subsidiary
• Conduct variance analysis and deliver financial insights to support management decisions
• Manage ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned by finance leadership
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment
• Maintain detailed documentation and support audit processes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in financial close, planning, or analysis roles
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Clear communication skills and ability to present financial insights to non-financial audiences
