SMX is seeking a results-driven Senior Financial Analyst (5098) to join our program management team in Sacramento, Sacramento County, in a full-time, on-site role anchoring the financial backbone of large, complex government contracts.
About the Role
As a Senior Financial Analyst at SMX in Sacramento, you will serve as the financial cornerstone of high-value contract programs. Partnering closely with the Program Manager, you will shape contract goals, translate objectives into actionable financial plans, and steer recommended courses of action that keep complex programs on budget and on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end budget development, cost estimating, and expenditure tracking across large, intricate contracts and programs.
- Apply advanced contract financial management practices to monitor performance and forecast outcomes.
- Collaborate directly with the Program Manager to define contract goals and objectives.
- Analyze financial data and lead recommended actions that guide program decision-making.
- Serve as a core member of the program management team, providing financial insight that informs strategy.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated, in-depth expertise in contract financial management.
- Proven experience preparing and administering budgets for large, complex contracts or programs.
- Strong skills in cost estimating, expenditure tracking, and financial analysis.
- Ability to work hand-in-hand with program leadership and communicate financial recommendations clearly.
- Comfortable operating as a key contributor within a collaborative program management team.
