Senior Estimator

WB Moore Company, a privately owned electrical contractor based in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, is hiring a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction cost analysis and bid development for our dynamic multistate project portfolio. This is a full-time position where you'll drive project success through precise estimating, strategic pricing, and collaborative partnership with our project delivery team.

About the Role

As Senior Estimator, you'll manage all estimating activities for complex electrical construction projects, from scope evaluation through final bid submission. Reporting to the Preconstruction Manager, you'll deliver competitive, accurate estimates that win work while protecting company margins across projects of varying size and scope.

What You'll Do

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and project budgets by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and scope requirements
• Research and track labor rates, material pricing, and equipment costs to maintain estimate accuracy
• Develop competitive bids that balance project value with profitability targets and market conditions
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and leadership to identify cost optimization and risk mitigation strategies
• Build and strengthen relationships with suppliers, vendors, and trade partners to secure favorable pricing and favorable terms
• Review contract terms and general conditions to ensure estimates align with scope and minimize financial risk
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and standards
• Utilize industry estimating software and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in proposal development

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction with demonstrated success on complex, multistate projects
• Strong knowledge of electrical industry standards, codes, and construction best practices
• Proficiency with estimating software platforms and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Clear communication and presentation skills for internal and client-facing interactions
• Leadership capability to mentor team members and drive process improvements
• Valid driver's license with willingness to travel occasionally for project walks and customer meetings
