About the Role
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Brunswick, you'll architect and implement embedded software solutions that power advanced marine technologies. You'll work at the intersection of hardware and software, solving complex technical challenges while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the strategic direction of embedded systems development across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for marine applications and systems
- Lead code reviews and establish best practices for embedded software quality and maintainability
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in embedded systems and real-time environments
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology strategy for embedded platforms
- Mentor junior engineers and support team growth and development
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience
- Strong expertise in C/C++ and real-time embedded systems
- Proven ability to work with microcontrollers, FPGAs, or other embedded hardware platforms
- Experience with embedded software design patterns, debugging, and optimization
- Track record of leading technical projects or mentoring other engineers
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts
