Support Instrumentation/Electrical Maintenance Technicians with complex field problems during project execution. Assist in technical training and development of craftsmen’s skills for new technologies installed by the project group. Develop, review, and modify refinery electrical standards based on vendor recommendations and NFPA codes. Develop Turnaround work and ensure all scope is captured in the conceptual phase of projects. For new installations, provide necessary calculations/settings (e.g., UPS systems, motors, transformers, relays, related substation equipment). Act as an electrical subject matter expert for capital projects with an electrical scope, including those involving upgrading compressor controls and motor-operated valves. Review and approve electrical system studies up to 138 kV during all projects when appropriate. Make recommendations for improvements of system studies related to electrical components.
