What This Role Involves

As a Senior Cloud Native Storage Engineer at noris network AG, you will be responsible for the technical leadership of our productive Ceph clusters. You will continuously develop their architecture and ensure high availability, security, and auditability. Your role involves operating, administering, and optimizing Ceph RBD as well as the Ceph Object Storage with RGW and a S3-compatible interface. You will plan and implement upgrades, expansions, and lifecycle measures, ensuring they are structured and largely automated.

Core Duties

• Take technical responsibility for productive Ceph clusters and continuously develop their architecture
• Operate, administer, and optimize Ceph RBD as well as the Ceph Object Storage with RGW and a S3-compatible interface
• Plan and implement upgrades, expansions, and lifecycle measures in a structured and largely automated manner
• Analyze performance and system behavior to ensure optimal cluster operation

Requirements

• Experience with Ceph, OpenStack, and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of storage systems, including Ceph architecture and operations
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools
• A passion for open-source technologies and cloud-native solutions
