Join Blockworks as a Senior Backend Engineer in New York City, New York, where you'll help power the infrastructure supporting the modern crypto industry.
What This Role Involves
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Blockworks, you'll architect and maintain the robust systems that process, transform, and serve critical market data and insights to thousands of investors and businesses worldwide. You'll work full-time, on-site in our New York office, building scalable backend services that power our information platform and connect participants in onchain capital markets.
Core Duties
- Design and develop high-performance backend systems that ingest, process, and transform raw market data into actionable intelligence
- Build and maintain APIs and services that power Blockworks' research, insights, and platform features
- Collaborate with product, data science, and frontend teams to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to maintain system quality
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve our backend infrastructure
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend software development experience
- Strong expertise in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or equivalent
- Solid understanding of database design, API architecture, and distributed systems
- Proven track record building and maintaining production systems at scale
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Familiarity with crypto, blockchain, or fintech is a plus
