Oklahoma City Public Schools is hiring a full-time Security Specialist at Putnam Heights, where you'll deliver hands-on operational support and technical expertise that keeps students, staff, and campuses safe across the district.
About the Role
As a Security Specialist with Oklahoma City Public Schools in the United States, you will serve as a key resource within the district's Security Department, reporting directly to the Security Director. This is an on-site, non-exempt position scheduled for 178 work days at 8 hours per day. Your primary focus is providing reliable operational backing and practical technical direction to school-based security personnel and administrative teams, helping ensure that safety protocols run smoothly day to day.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer day-to-day operational assistance to school security teams and administrative staff across district sites.
- Supply clear technical guidance on security systems, equipment, and procedures.
- Support the implementation and consistent application of district safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Security Director and campus leaders to address security needs as they arise.
- Help maintain a secure, well-monitored environment for students, faculty, and visitors.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in security operations, with the ability to advise others on technical matters.
- Familiarity with security systems, equipment, and safety procedures used in school or comparable settings.
- Strong communication skills for guiding both security and administrative personnel.
- Dependability and sound judgment in a non-exempt, full-time role. Compensation is set on schedule 107 and determined by experience.
