Security Services Coordinator
Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities & Emergency Management, the Security Services Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and stakeholders while supporting day-to-day facility security operations. This role is responsible for greeting and assisting guests, managing the front desk, monitoring security cameras and building access, responding to facility-related concerns, and supporting emergency and safety drills/procedures. The role ensures both a welcoming environment and a secure site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Security & Facility Support
· Monitors security cameras, access control systems, and alarm dashboards throughout the workday.
· Assists with opening/closing procedures, including arming/disarming alarm systems according to established protocols.
· Responds to and documents routine security incidents or unusual activity; escalates issues when appropriate.
· Serves as point-of-contact for contractor arrival and access, ensuring proper authorization.
· Conducts periodic walkthroughs of site common areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and security.
· Supports emergency response procedures including evacuations, drills, and communications.
· Coordinates with Facilities leadership on site security improvements, maintenance concerns, or access needs.
· Provides on-call support and after-hours assistance on an as-needed basis.
· Maintains safety and security posture throughout the organizational footprint.
Reception & Administrative Duties
· Greets visitors and staff in a professional, courteous manner and ensures sign-in protocols are followed.
· Answers and directs incoming phone calls; provides general information as needed.
· Issues visitor badges and ensures appropriate staff are notified of guest arrivals.
· Provides general administrative support such as sorting mail, coordinating deliveries, and managing front-desk supplies.
· Maintains the reception area to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
· High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
· 2–4 years of security service experience
· Familiarity with commercial security systems (cameras, access control, alarms)
· Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and remain calm in emergent situations.
· Demonstrates high levels of responsibility, confidentiality, and discretion.
· Ability to work and make decisions independently.
· Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
· Willingness to work outside of standard business hours during emergencies or special events if needed.
Computer Skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
· Ability to learn and operate security and facility-related software systems.

· Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
· Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to monitor security screens.

· The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
· May be exposed to outdoor conditions when assisting with facility checks or incident response.
· May require extended periods at a workstation monitoring security systems.
