About the Role
As a Part Time Perimeter Patrol Security Officer in South Norfolk, Chesapeake, you'll be the protective presence our client needs. Your vigilant patrols and quick thinking will safeguard facility perimeters, assets, and the safety of those who work there. This is meaningful work on a flexible schedule that fits your availability.
What You'll Do
- Patrol assigned perimeter areas, building exteriors, parking lots, and entry points
- Monitor access to facilities and verify the identification of authorized personnel
- Identify and report suspicious activities, security breaches, and policy violations immediately
- Maintain detailed incident logs and shift reports documenting all security-relevant events
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations with appropriate urgency
- Conduct thorough inspections to confirm all doors, windows, gates, and barriers are secure
- Communicate findings and concerns to management and coordinate with law enforcement when needed
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and judgment abilities
- Physical capability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods in various weather
- Professional appearance and demeanor with a commitment to safety and vigilance
- Security industry experience and professional certifications preferred
