Academy School District 20 is hiring a Lead School Security Officer in Colorado Springs, Texas, to help protect the people, property, and facilities that keep our learning communities thriving. This full-time, on-site role places an experienced safety professional at the heart of campus operations across the district.

About the Role

As the Lead School Security Officer, you will safeguard students, staff, and visitors while maintaining a secure environment across district buildings and grounds. Based out of the Education and Administration Center (EAC) in Colorado Springs, you may be assigned to a high school or middle school campus, or to districtwide patrol responsibilities. Schedules vary by assignment and may follow either a school-year or year-round calendar.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and security of district property, facilities, and personnel.
• Monitor and patrol an assigned high school or middle school campus, or cover districtwide patrol duties as directed.
• Respond promptly to security concerns and help ensure a safe atmosphere for learning and daily operations.
• Support a school-year or year-round schedule depending on the specific assignment.
• Work collaboratively with school staff and administration to uphold security standards across the district.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in security, safety, or campus protection, with the leadership capacity expected of a lead-level role.
• Ability to remain alert, observant, and dependable while patrolling facilities and grounds.
• Flexibility to work either a school-year or year-round schedule and to accept campus or districtwide assignments.
• Strong judgment and a calm, professional approach when responding to safety situations.
• Availability for full-time, on-site work in Colorado Springs, Texas.
