Morris County Vocational School District is hiring a part-time Security Guard for the 2026-2027 school year at the Morris County School of Technology, supporting a safe and welcoming campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.
About the Role
This is a part-time, 10-month Security Guard position based in the United States with Morris County Vocational School District. The schedule covers four days each week from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM throughout the school year. The successful candidate will help maintain order, monitor campus activity, and respond to security and safety matters across a busy educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the safety and security of students, employees, and visitors while on school property.
- Monitor building entrances, hallways, and grounds to deter unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment.
- Assist with traffic and vehicle flow, including arrival and dismissal periods.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations to the appropriate staff.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and other security-related situations.
- Support school personnel in enforcing campus rules and supervision procedures.
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a school environment on matters of security and traffic safety.
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive or time-critical situations.
- Dependability and consistent availability for the scheduled afternoon shifts.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and the public.
- Comfort working independently while supporting a team-oriented campus.
