MEGX is seeking a School Social Worker for its Black Forest, El Paso County location to support students’ emotional and academic success.
About the Role
This is an exempt, full‑time position that may be scheduled as full‑time or part‑time depending on student enrollment and special‑education service needs. You will report to the Director of Exceptional Student Services and maintain a caseload aligned with your FTE assignment in accordance with state and federal special‑education guidelines. The role offers a starting salary of approximately $65,000.
What You'll Do
- Provide individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.</lians.
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and participate in multidisciplinary eligibility meetings.
- Deliver crisis intervention and support services as needed.
- Connect students and families with community resources and external support agencies.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
- Advocate for student needs and promote inclusive practices within the school environment.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or a closely related field.
- Current Colorado School Social Worker licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Experience working in K‑12 settings, preferably with special‑education populations.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and related special‑education regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload while prioritizing student welfare.
- Cultural competence and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
