About the Role
This School Psychologist position supports the mental health, social-emotional, and academic success of students in the Sandwich Community School District 430. You'll provide comprehensive psychological services aligned with our district's commitment to growth mindset, respect, and collaboration. This role sits at the intersection of education and mental health, where your clinical expertise directly impacts student outcomes and educational achievement.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments to identify student strengths, learning needs, and areas for support
- Develop and implement individualized intervention and prevention programs in collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families
- Provide counseling and support services addressing students' behavioral, social, and emotional wellbeing
- Consult with school staff on classroom management, academic strategies, and student support plans
- Partner with families to understand student needs and coordinate home-school collaboration for student progress
- Maintain thorough and accurate psychological and educational records compliant with district and legal requirements
- Support crisis intervention and response protocols as needed to ensure student safety
- Contribute to the implementation of district initiatives that reinforce our core values of empathy, integrity, and citizenship
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
What We're Looking For
- Current licensure or certification as a School Psychologist (state requirements apply)
- Master's degree in School Psychology or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills reflective of responsibility, collaboration, and respect
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and families
- Commitment to a growth mindset and continuous professional development
- Experience with psychological assessment, counseling, and intervention strategies
- Organizational skills and attention to detail in managing records and documentation
