About the Role
This School Bus Driver position is based out of the Service Center – Transportation Department in Portland and is a 0.875 FTE role covering 7 hours per day. The schedule follows a split shift, running from 6:45am to 9:20am in the morning and 2:00pm to 4:45pm in the afternoon, aligned with student transportation needs across the district. The calendar spans 198 days per year (July through June). The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026, or upon successful completion of hiring requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport Centennial School District students along assigned routes during morning and afternoon shifts.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to keep the bus in safe operating condition.
- Maintain order and a positive environment for riders while following all traffic and district safety rules.
- Adhere to the split-shift schedule and route timing to keep daily transportation running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Commitment to student safety and reliable, on-time service.
- Ability to operate a school bus and meet applicable licensing and certification requirements for the role.
- Availability to work the posted split shift across the 198-day school calendar.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range of $24.81 – $34.35 per hour (Range H).
