Ward Church
Ward Church is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join our team in the United States. This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by maintaining a secure environment and protecting our community members.
About the Role
As Safety Officer, you will serve as a vigilant guardian of our church facility and the people who visit us. Your presence, awareness, and swift decision-making will be instrumental in creating a secure atmosphere where members feel safe and protected. You will coordinate closely with our facilities team and leadership to address safety concerns and respond effectively to a wide range of scenarios.
What You'll Do
- Maintain a consistent security and safety presence throughout our church property
- Monitor activities and remain alert to potential safety risks or unusual situations
- Respond appropriately and professionally to emergencies including medical events, lockdowns, fires, utility failures, weather-related incidents, and missing persons
- Provide immediate assistance during disruptive events and natural disasters
- Collaborate with facilities staff and church leadership on security protocols and safety initiatives
- Document incidents and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel
What We're Looking For
- Strong situational awareness and sound judgment in high-pressure situations
- Ability to remain calm and respond professionally to emergencies
- Physical capability to patrol church grounds and respond quickly when needed
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
- Commitment to the safety and well-being of our community
- Relevant certifications or training in safety, security, or emergency response are a plus
