About the Role

As an RNT at our Danbury rehabilitation hospital, you'll provide essential bedside care and support to our nursing team. This role combines hands-on patient assistance with vital clinical responsibilities in a facility dedicated to helping individuals regain independence following acute illness, surgery, or injury.

What You'll Do

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Support patient mobility, positioning, and safe transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and report vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
• Maintain patient comfort through bed changes, hydration support, and responsive communication
• Assist nurses with catheter care, wound management, and other clinical procedures
• Operate and maintain medical equipment according to facility protocols
• Document patient observations and care activities accurately in medical records
• Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe patient environment
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and communicate effectively with the care team

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Current RNT certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to lift, push, and move patients safely (up to 50+ pounds regularly)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Reliability and ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
• Professional demeanor and commitment to patient dignity
