RN – Renal Transplant

Medical City Dallas seeks a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in renal transplant care for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Richardson, Dallas. This full-time position offers a meaningful opportunity to provide exceptional post-transplant patient care while contributing to decisions that shape nursing practice and organ transplant outcomes.

About the Role

As a Renal Transplant RN at Medical City Dallas, you'll deliver complex nursing care to solid organ transplant patients during critical post-operative and recovery phases. Your expertise directly influences patient safety protocols, clinical pathways, and the quality of care our transplant recipients receive during their most vulnerable period. This role emphasizes partnership—your clinical insights and patient perspectives are actively sought and valued by nursing leadership and the broader transplant care team.

What You'll Do

• Monitor vital signs, lab values, and graft function indicators; promptly identify and report complications such as rejection or infection
• Perform comprehensive post-transplant wound and drain assessments with meticulous attention to healing and infection prevention
• Administer immunosuppressive medications and manage complex pharmacologic regimens specific to transplant patients
• Provide patient and family education on medication compliance, lifestyle modifications, and long-term transplant management
• Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, infectious disease specialists, and other interdisciplinary team members on daily patient rounds
• Participate in hospital councils and evidence-based practice initiatives to improve transplant patient outcomes
• Contribute to national nursing initiatives and professional development in solid organ transplantation

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in Texas
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in acute care nursing
• Experience or demonstrated knowledge in organ transplant, ICU, or post-surgical PCU nursing preferred
• Commitment to patient-centered, collaborative care delivery
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment
