About the Role
Pagosa Springs Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for part-time emergency department staffing. Working a 12-hour shift each Friday (12 hours per week), you'll serve as a non-exempt team member supporting the Emergency Department and related clinical services. This position reports to the Manager of Emergency Department / Med Surg / Respiratory Services.
What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor emergency patients, performing rapid evaluations to triage incoming arrivals and prioritize care needs
- Administer medications, manage intravenous therapy, and implement emergency clinical protocols under physician direction
- Provide direct patient care and compassionate support to individuals and families during acute illness or injury
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and surgical staff to coordinate comprehensive emergency treatment
- Document patient assessments, vital signs, and clinical interventions accurately in medical records
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure safe, sterile procedures in high-acuity patient environments
What We're Looking For
- Valid Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Demonstrated experience in emergency nursing or acute care settings
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities within interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional nursing standards
