Risk Controlling Manager

Solaris is hiring a Risk Controlling Manager in Frankfurt to strengthen our financial risk management function and help safeguard the regulatory resilience of the bank and the wider group.

About the Role

As a full-time Risk Controlling Manager based in Frankfurt, you will work alongside the Head of Risk Controlling & Financial Risk Management to put internal and external regulatory requirements into practice. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct the risk inventory and build the overall risk profile for both the bank and the group.
• Run day-to-day risk management and controlling processes — identifying, assessing, steering, monitoring and communicating risk — with particular focus on CSRBB, IRRBB, credit, operational and liquidity risk.
• Design and maintain the system of risk indicators and early-warning procedures for financial risk.
• Track the risk position and risk-bearing capacity, and review the limits defined for the bank and group.
• Compile risk reports and presentations for Financial Risk Management and stakeholders on request.
• Report on risk management topics to Solaris leadership and its committees, and coordinate meetings with auditors, regulators and third parties.
• Handle tasks tied to outsourcing arrangements for risk management processes and share knowledge across the financial risk team.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in financial risk management within a retail bank, financial institution or comparable setting, covering CSRBB, IRRBB, credit, operational and liquidity risk.
• Strong economic, business and mathematical/statistical foundations, with a degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Business Management or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with risk management software and confidence using AI tools to support analysis, reporting and workflows — paired with the judgement to critically assess AI-generated output where explainability and auditability matter.
• Sound understanding of German banking law and risk-related regulatory standards.
• Fluent English for collaboration across our international teams; German is a strong plus.
• Analytical, detail-driven and reliable, with integrity, the resolve to defend a position, and excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
