Slang is hiring a Revenue Accountant to join our growing finance team on-site in Astoria, Queens — a full-time opportunity to own the numbers behind a fast-scaling conversational AI company reshaping how restaurants connect with their guests.
About the Role
As a Revenue Accountant at Slang, you'll be central to how we recognize, record, and report revenue across the business. Based at our Astoria, Queens office, you'll partner closely with finance, operations, and leadership to keep our books accurate, our reporting reliable, and our financial picture crystal clear as the company expands. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in precision and wants to see the direct impact of their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end revenue recognition in line with applicable accounting standards
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules tied to revenue
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Analyze revenue trends and surface discrepancies before they become problems
- Support audits by compiling documentation and responding to inquiries
- Collaborate cross-functionally to refine and document revenue accounting workflows
Qualifications
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
- Practical experience with revenue accounting or general accounting functions
- Solid grasp of revenue recognition principles and core accounting fundamentals
- Strong attention to detail paired with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfort working with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools
- Clear communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, on-site environment
