Retail Store Manager in Training

The Opportunity

This is your chance to grow into a pivotal leadership role within Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona's retail operations. As a Retail Store Manager in Training, you'll develop the skills needed to oversee all aspects of our Westminster store, from daily operations to team leadership and customer engagement. You'll work directly under experienced management, learning how every decision drives our mission to create sustainable employment pathways for individuals in our community. This hands-on training program prepares you for full store responsibility and advancement into senior retail leadership positions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complete daily operations at the retail store location, including inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation
• Lead and supervise Assistant Store Manager(s) and associate team members, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development
• Drive sales performance, manage pricing and promotions, and optimize product placement to maximize customer engagement
• Maintain financial accountability, monitor expenses, and contribute to profitable store operations
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming shopping environment aligned with Goodwill values
• Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety standards established by Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona

Qualifications

• Proven retail management or supervisory experience, or equivalent demonstrated leadership in a customer-facing environment
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced retail setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members
• Customer service excellence and a commitment to creating positive shopping experiences
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and retail management software
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
• Passion for Goodwill's mission and social impact within the community
