Florida Gulf Coast University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Resort & Hospitality Management for our undergraduate program in Orange County. This part-time position offers an opportunity to instruct aspiring hospitality professionals in the technology systems that power modern resort and hotel operations.
About the Role
You will teach HFT 3443: Hospitality Information Technology, an undergraduate course that explores computer applications and technology solutions across resort and hospitality functional areas. Students in this course gain foundational knowledge in selecting, deploying, and managing the information systems that hospitality organizations depend on daily.
What You'll Do
- Lead classroom sessions and discussions on hospitality technology platforms, property management systems, and operational software
- Teach students the fundamentals of purchasing, implementing, and maintaining information systems for resort and hospitality environments
- Design and evaluate assignments and assessments that measure student understanding of hospitality technology solutions
- Provide detailed feedback on student work and maintain office hours for academic support
- Collaborate with hospitality program faculty to ensure curriculum aligns with current industry practices
- Monitor student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, Information Systems, or related discipline
- Solid understanding of hospitality technology systems, platforms, and applications
- Prior experience teaching, training, or instructing in an academic or professional setting
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to undergraduate learners
- Background in hospitality operations, hotel management, or related industry experience preferred
- Passion for helping students develop practical career-ready skills
