Residential Assistant

NCCF is hiring a full-time Residential Assistant in Washington, D.C. to help keep a short-term family housing community safe, orderly, and supportive for the residents who call it home.

About the Role

As a Residential Assistant with NCCF in Washington, Washington, D.C., you are the on-shift presence who safeguards the well-being of residents in a short-term family housing program. You confirm that residents follow program expectations, step in calmly during moments of crisis, and help maintain a clean, secure, and well-run living environment throughout your scheduled hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall safety, care, and welfare of residents during your assigned shift.
• Verify that residents observe program rules, established policies, and operating procedures.
• Support each resident's progress toward the goals outlined in their individual service plans.
• Deliver timely crisis intervention and de-escalation when situations call for it.
• Keep the family housing community clean, organized, and orderly.
• Document observations and report concerns related to resident conduct and program compliance.

Qualifications

• A genuine commitment to the safety and dignity of families in a residential setting.
• Sound judgment and composure when responding to emergencies or sensitive situations.
• Strong attention to detail in upholding rules, procedures, and service plan requirements.
• Dependability for scheduled shifts and the ability to work on-site in Washington, D.C. (this is not a remote position).
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with diverse residents.
