Metropolitan State University of Denver's Department of Social Work is seeking a Research Assistant to support faculty-led initiatives and research projects. This is a temporary, part-time hourly position based in Denver, Colorado.
About the Role
As a Research Assistant, you will help advance scholarly work in social work by providing essential administrative and research support to faculty members. This role offers recent graduates and current students valuable exposure to academic research environments, professional project management, and evidence-based practice development. Working at $18.81 per hour, you'll contribute meaningfully to social work scholarship while building relevant experience in your field.
What You'll Do
- Support faculty research project execution and data collection efforts
- Organize, compile, and assist in analyzing research materials and documentation
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize scholarly sources
- Maintain accurate records and research databases
- Coordinate with research participants or survey respondents as needed
- Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations to support research dissemination
- Assist with administrative tasks related to research initiatives and grant compliance
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, related social science field, or equivalent academic coursework
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented approach to documentation and data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and follow established research protocols
- Genuine interest in social work research and scholarly inquiry
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and willingness to learn research tools
Important Information
This temporary position is not benefits-eligible. Enrollment in the Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA) retirement account is required for this role. Employment status is part-time hourly.
