Renewable Senior Performance Engineer

Sargent & Lundy is hiring a Renewable Senior Performance Engineer to join our Consulting group in The Gap, Illinois, where you'll shape the technical foundation of utility-scale renewable projects on a hybrid schedule.

About the Role

As a Renewable Senior Performance Engineer at Sargent & Lundy, you will lead energy yield assessments for large solar photovoltaic developments and grow your expertise across solar PV and battery energy storage performance modeling. This full-time, in-person-friendly position is based in The Gap, Illinois and follows a hybrid arrangement requiring three days of on-site collaboration each week.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform energy yield assessments for utility-scale solar PV projects across the development and operational lifecycle.
• Build and refine performance models for solar photovoltaic systems and battery energy storage installations.
• Analyze production data and technical inputs to validate project performance expectations.
• Partner with consulting colleagues and clients to translate engineering findings into actionable guidance.
• Expand your technical scope across emerging renewable and energy storage technologies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience producing solar PV energy yield assessments for utility-scale projects.
• Working knowledge of solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage performance modeling.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex results clearly.
• Willingness to work on a hybrid schedule based in The Gap, Illinois, with three in-office days per week.
