Position: Mid-to-Senior CAD Draftsman Retail Shopfitting & Joinery Design
Location: Fully Remote (Preferably residing in Cape Town)
Salary: R400,000 R600,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience)
Experience: 3-7 years in a similar role
Working Hours: UK hours (5 days a week)
Leave: 19 days annual leave + UK bank holidays
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CAD Draftsman with experience in retail shopfitting and joinery design to work remotely for a UK-based company. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Autodesk Inventor 2024 and Autodesk AutoCAD 2024, producing high-quality technical drawings and ensuring designs are optimised for CNC cutting and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed technical drawings for retail shopfitting and joinery designs.
- Work with designers and project managers to translate conceptual ideas into production-ready drawings.
- Ensure accuracy and precision in all drafting work, including layouts, elevations, sections, and assembly drawings.
- Optimise designs for CNC cutting and efficient manufacturing.
- Maintain compliance with UK standards and regulations in all drawings.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure seamless production.
- Review and revise drawings based on client feedback and project requirements.
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of experience in a CAD drafting role within the retail shopfitting, joinery, or interior design industry.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor 2024 and Autodesk AutoCAD 2024.
- Strong understanding of joinery design, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience in CNC manufacturing processes and optimising drawings for production.
- Ability to work remotely, manage time effectively, and meet UK working hours.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams across different locations.
