Reliability Engineer

CalPortland seeks an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our team in Pinon Hills, San Bernardino County. In this full-time position, you'll drive operational performance and equipment longevity across our construction operations through proactive maintenance strategies and continuous reliability improvements.

About the Role

The Reliability Engineer position focuses on maximizing the uptime and performance of our construction equipment fleet. You'll combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic planning to develop and implement maintenance programs that keep our operations running at peak efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex equipment challenges and driving measurable improvements in operational reliability.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate construction equipment and machinery performance, identifying opportunities for reliability enhancement
• Design and execute preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
• Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimize equipment utilization and performance
• Monitor and track reliability metrics, using data to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop technical documentation and best practices for equipment maintenance and operation

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in equipment reliability, maintenance engineering, or related technical field
• Strong knowledge of machinery operation, diagnostics, and maintenance principles
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data and identify trends
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Relevant technical certifications or degree in engineering or equivalent field strongly preferred
